However, you can also entertainment and fun, and do not forget the delicious Italian cuisine including their famous wines. Many people Holidays in Venice, while they move, and then point to visit the other parts of northern Italy, that we will come shortly.

A holiday in Venice best enjoyed when you get personalized attention, with your own private car or boat – not shared between you and 50 others, all with their own ideas. There is nothing as good as a private boat tour around the canals of Venice and a luxury hotel is located on the Grand Canal itself – the main artery of this wonderfully romantic city.

Venice consists of 118 islands in a large lagoon and around 150 channels. Although it is likely to fall gradually, it will not do while you are there! Venice is famous for its discoverer (Venezuela was named after him – Little Venice), artist and musician boasting such well known names such as Marco Polo, Cabot, Titian, Bellini, Vivaldi, and of course, Casanova! No wonder that Venice has so many museums, art galleries and other centers of culture.

The center, if there is one, is the St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace, which some of the most decorated artists of the Renaissance was. Not far away is the famous Bridge of Sighs, the supposedly after the sighs of the prisoners crossing it called Venice prison. The gallery of St. Marks' Church contains the bronze horses from Constantinople to Venice brought during the Second Crusade of 1147 – 1149 including works of art.

The lagoon is home not only Venice, but also on some large islands such as Murano, famous for his glass. If you make the most of your vacation in Venice, do not fail to visit the magnificent glass museum with some amazing works of blown glass to read, or They made the Byzantine mosaics in the church of Santa Maria Assunta on the island of Torcello. Another of the lesser known areas to tourists is the Squero de San Trovaso where you can see gondolas can be built and repaired at the shipyard, one of the few left in Venice, a major city to one of the greatest maritime cities are used in Europe.

Venice is famous for its palaces, although most have been converted to hotels, and if you can, try a room in one of get this. The architecture is breathtaking and most of the rooms are huge, although many have been reduced in size to accommodate more guests. Another thing to You do when in Venice is the area of the Veneto region to visit – Venice is the capital of this region of Italy. You might not have time to visit Verona, of Romeo and Juliet fame, but you should visit to Vicenza.

Not to be missed holiday in Venice Vicenza, the birthplace of Palladio, the most influential architects of all time. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the rotunda in the city is usually Palladio. The Teatro Olimpico is Europe's oldest indoor theater, and there are many other buildings in the Palladian picturesque city. If you have time to visit Verona, apart from the Shakespeare connection (The Two Gentlemen of Verona, as well as "Romeo and Juliet) find a one well-preserved Roman amphitheater here – the arena. This is currently used for outdoor concerts. If you remain as novel, is another ancient Roman city of Padua in nearby. I suppose Roman cities in Italy should not be surprised!

Most people want to travel to Venice to some of the great Italian wines grown in the region, like Soave try, Bardolino and Valpolicella. In fact, it is best to leave Venice as soon as you visit what you want to see, and Base change to other parts of northern Italy to visit. The vineyards and wineries around here welcome visitors to come and have a taste.

Milan is also a Must, especially if you are fashion conscious, and if you take the chance to come and visit Lake Como, then. This Y-shaped lake is the third largest lake in Italy and one of the deepest in Europe, with the base about 656 feet below sea level. There are many good hotels around here, especially around the Lake Maggiore, some great small islands to explore has, and you do not need to stay in Venice if you want to enjoy in the north of Italy in general.

Venice holidays are a great lot to offer prospective in the culture, especially the architecture and other forms of physical technology, but try to enjoy Venice in style. Personal service is well worth it, especially to travel all that way, and one can not simply your own personal guide, boat, car and business class flights to the luxury holiday a really pampered and experience should be. Make sure you visit Northern Italy and Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, because the simpler luxury, sometimes overlooked during your vacation in Venice will be able to offer.

Any sujestions would be awesome, especially concerning Roma

Ahhh, Italy is great. When I was in Rome last summer, I stayed in a hotel right above the Spanish Steps. List of Places to Visit in Florence, Italy

There are many exotic and beautiful countries to visit all over the world. If you are lucky you will be given the chance to visit one or even two of these places. One of the most exotic and beautiful countries that we recommend you visit is Florence, Italy.

Florence is full of culture and history. At every turn you will be given a chance to view the amazing Romanesque architecture that still remains a symbol of what the city used to be and still is today. There are many historical places to visit and we have created a list of the top five places that you should not miss out on.

Ponte Vecchio

This famous bridge is one of the most popular landmarks in all of Florence. It is one of six bridges that were saved during the retreat of the Germans in 1944 during World War II. Because of years of flooding many of the 10th century bridges have been ruined. But this bridge is a faithful reminder of the history’s culture.

The bridge was built in 1345 during which it was used to house butcher shops. These shops would throw the dead carcasses that they would not use into the Arno and cause a great smell. In order to stop the horrible smell the Grand Duke Fernandino replaced the butchers with goldsmiths.

Galleria degli Uffizi

This art gallery was used by the Medici family. During the 1700’s this family would reserve many of the rooms to hold their dozens of prestigious art collections. The whole place has a total of 40 rooms and inside it houses art pieces that were created by Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Caravaggio. The ceilings and corridors themselves have been painted with beautiful frescoes and are lined with 16th century and Roman sculptures.

Piazzale Michelangelo

The Piazzale Michelangelo is well known for the panoramic views of Florence as well as the Arno valley. Many tourists as well as locals will stand on this terrace and snap some of the best pictures of Florence.

It was built as a major part of the restructuring of the city walls. In 1871 Giuseppe Poggi designed a monument that was dedicated to Michelangelo (hence the name). The monument was to be built out of copies of Michelangelo’s many works or art including the Medici chapel sculptures from San Lorenzo and ‘David’.

Santa Maria del Fiore – Il Duomo

The Il Duomo is legendary and a symbol of the city’s famous skyline. It is most famous for its dome – which was Filippo Brunelleschi’s Renaissance masterpiece. This double dome was finished in 1436 and was created to be completely self supporting. It is a sign as the largest masonry dome ever in the world and is made up of 4,000,000 bricks.

Climb the 463 steps to make your way to the top and get a view of the city that is spectacular and one that you won’t easily forget. Construction on the dome began in 1296 under the architect Arnolfo fi Cambio.

Basilica di Santa Maria Novella

This church was created in 1278 by Fra Ristoro and Fra Sisto. These two were apart of the Dominican order. Construction was passed onto the Fra Jacopo Talenti and Fra Giovanni da Campi. The design of the church was a Gothic style – which is visible to those who visit.

Along with all of these historical sites you will also be able to visit the many authentic restaurants in the area. There you will be able to drink some of the best wine and dine in romantic restaurants that offer delicious meals. To complete you stay at one of their many luxurious hotels. The Grand Hotel Baglioni is one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Florence.

European Travel Tips : How to Eat in Florence on the Cheap

Visiting Italy in Florence?

I will be days in Italy at the end of this month for 11! I will live in Florence with my friend who studied abroad in the. I want to drive everywhere and I heard the best means of transport is by train? Are there any good tips for cheap travel and stay on the things? Also special places I should to visit us while I go to Venice and Rome?

I had no problem with the trains between Venice, Florence and Rome. To stay on top of things travel very light, a good map and small travel book (Eyewitness Travel have a Top 10 makes little book with map). Cheap eats check out tripadvisor.com for suggestions, Pauline Frommer and / Rick Steves travel-pound note down a few places & Eyewitness mark on your map). Use the vaporetto (water taxi) in Venice, the # 82 brings At the Grand Canal and stops at all the important places, hanging in the Piazza San Marco, Riato marketplace, visit the island of Murano. No need to spend much money, it except upon the car you really want the experience. to see Florence Academia Michaelango is fantastic; Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens is great, go up to Michaelango Square for a great view over the city and neighboring Fiesole. Watch out for tourist ripoff price for gelato and eat food off the beaten path or in the cafeteria's, pizza stands and small markets for delicacies and wine. Hrs.It train to Rome is about 2.5 's a very busy and crowded Space (think Streets of Manhattan) plus bike riding on sidewalks. Rome was my favorite.Take at least one hop on / off bus to see the most attractions be aware of pickpockets in fast-tourist areas. Trevi Fountain and depend on the Spanish Steps at sunset was beautiful. For souvenirs, I buy jewelry, scarves, to Christmas decorations usually stands at-wear stuff, or take up little space. Well TripAdvisor ranked it 77 out of 1139 Rome Hotels and especially recommended it for honeymoons! (I mean, how much sight seeing will you actually want to be doing?????)

Travel Insurance For Top Romantic Getaways

You may be thinking of treating your loved one for Valentine’s Day – or to pop the question, or for no special reason at all. However, deciding where to go can pose a dilemma. How do you find the perfect romantic escape? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Venice

Venice is touristy and expensive, there’s no question about it. However, the city is sure to spark your imagination and romantic streak as you lose yourself in its history and secrets. If budget is important go during off-peak times when you’ll be more likely to find a hotel deal. You could splash out and stay at one of the top hotels like the Cipriani, Danieli or Molini Stucky where you’ll experience Venetian luxury and pampering. Gondola rides are pricey, but unforgettable and not to be missed, so pack a picnic and bottle of Prosecco and let the city work its magic as you glide beneath the Rialto Bridge. Be sure to take a vaporetto (water bus) to visit the nearby islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.

Many people are choosing to cross the pond for their romantic getaways while the exchange rate is still favourable. The U.S. undoubtedly offers tremendous diversity and a choice of romantic locations, such as:

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas, or Sin City, may not be everyone’s idea of a romantic getaway – but for many it’s all their fantasies rolled into one desert oasis. Love it or hate it, Las Vegas will amaze you. There’s so much to see and do that you may not even think about romance. So, take in some of the first class shows, explore the casinos, and let the desert’s heat ignite your passion. If you get really carried away look out for one of the neon Wedding Chapel signs. Romantic – or tacky – you decide! No doubt there’ll be plenty of divorce lawyers on hand. If you can’t decide between Venice or Las Vegas, then go to Vegas and stay at the Venetian hotel. You’ll get a taste of Venice ‘Vegas-style’ complete with a gondola ride and singing gondolier – with less damage to your wallet!

Aspen

The lovely old mining town of Aspen, Colorado is a fine place for lovers – in winter or summer. It will be pricey, especially during ski season, but even if you don’t ski you can enjoy the après ski activities. You’re likely to rub
shoulders with the rich and famous as you wander the pretty streets and browse the art galleries and boutiques. If Aspen is beyond your budget you could stay ‘down Valley’ at the lovely old western town of Glenwood Springs. Don’t miss the natural hot springs pool and the Yampah Vapour Caves.

Manhattan Island, New York

New York – the Big Apple – can be a surprisingly romantic city. Native New Yorkers may laugh at such a notion, but Europeans experiencing it for the first time will likely find the buzz of the place very exciting. It’s particularly romantic at Christmas when the Rockefeller Center is alive with ice-skaters beneath the enormous Christmas tree. What could be more romantic than a stroll through Central Park or along 5th Avenue?

Paris

Paris is also known as La Ville-Lumière (the City of Lights). The city has earned a reputation over the centuries for being ‘the’ romantic destination for lovers. Is it still that way? Opinions vary greatly these days, but if you’ve never been to Paris you must go at least once and find out for yourself! When it comes to food, drink and romance, the French do it well.

Nice, France

Sophisticated and glamorous Nice is located on the French Riviera or ‘Cote d’Azur’. The weather is usually good and the beaches are lovely – though some are a bit pebbly. If you visit during February-March you’re sure to catch some of their Carnival festivities. Take a cosy stroll along the Promenade des Anglais, with the sparkling Mediterranean on one side and the beauty of the mountains and city on the other. As a bonus, Monaco and Cannes are both within easy reach for day trips.

The Amalfi Coast… Bahamas… Caribbean islands…Hawaii…Tahiti… The dreamy list could go on. Hopefully, this snapshot of a few locations has whet your travel buds! Wherever your heart eventually leads you, don’t forget to take care of the boring and essential matters well before you go. Check that your passport, visas and travel insurance are all current and take care of any necessary vaccinations. Once those annoying chores are out of the way your mind can concentrate on the romantic delights awaiting you!
